EGR System

The EGR system used on some California and Canada models reduces emissions by recirculating some exhaust gas back into the engine under certain conditions. The system consists of a vacuum-operated valve mounted on the intake manifold and linked to the exhaust system. At part-throttle the EGR valve opens, allowing exhaust gas to be drawn into the intake manifold.
